Not sure which of the 17 SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals) you really relate to and care about? Want to get an idea where you could take action and make a difference? Want to help your students find their way and explore where they could make a difference? Take, or share, this quick and easy quiz to discover which Global Goals you or your students, colleagues, friends, or family are most closely aligned with and get suggestions on how we all can take action: globalgoals.org/quiz
When I took the quiz in November 2025, it really hit the nail on the head. Four Goals I really care about.
Peace, justice, strong institutions, clean water, sanitation, and affordable (limitless) energy. A lot of these I (and many others), who was born in Germany and lives in the United Kingdom, took (or take) for granted for most of our lives. Without a doubt (as is scientifically proven and repeatedly publicly demonstrated and increasingly broadcasted in livestreams), we were and are wrong. None of it can or ever should be taken for granted. All of it needs continuous action on behalf of many actors, including inter-governmental organisations (the UN and others), governments (from local to national), businesses (from SMEs to MNEs), communities, and us as individuals. … But what do I do? … just a selection:
1. Researching issues that matter (related to the SDGs)!
Doing research on issues and challenges around sustainability, responsible business, entrepreneurship, and more. My PhD ‘If James Bond ever drove a car share, then we have made it’: an exploratory study of institutional work and emotions for mobility as a service in Great Britain and Germany explored how Mobility as a Service and shared mobility generally could enable safer, fairer, more accessible public transport and public spaces, while also lowering our carbon emissions from transport (one of the major sources of global CO2!).
2. Educating myself!
I believe that only through educating myself and taking up opportunities to do so continuously will I be able to pay it forward, advocate for better practices, inspire change, and educate others. That's why I :
...got certified as Carbon Literate via the Carbon Literacy Project!
...am becoming certified Water literate via the Water Literacy Programme!
...gained a Certificate in Skills for the Green Transition via the Executive Education programme at Cambridge Judge Business School, sponsored by Banco Santander.
...engaged regularly in Climate Fresk and Circular Economy Collage workshops.
3. Advocating & Inspiring better Practices
From my first day at Ravensbourne University London in October 2024, I have advocated for our institution to join the UN-supported initiative PRME (Principles of Responsible Management Education). With the support of colleagues and leadership, I am now proudly representing Ravensbourne as the institution's PRME Lead, after we joined and became officially a Signatory Member of PRME in October 2025.
4. Educating others!
During my time at the University of Stirling I was involved in the delivery of a first-year undergraduate course "Wicked Problems, Sustainable Solutions" - the first elective module for students with contributions from all five faculties at the University.
At Ravensbourne University London, I have designed, delivered (and co-delivered), supported, and taught on various modules related to sustainability and responsibility including "Enterprise, Innovation, and Responsible Business Practices" (BSc Business Management - Level 5), "Experience Design & Sustainability" (MSc Events Management - Level 7), "Context of the Creative Industries" and "Contemporary Issues in the Creative Industries" (both Foundation Year - Level 3), and more.

...more is to come!
